Sevenist Brainstorm the Affect of Work Based Incentives

The famously competitive sales and marketing industry often creates the opportunity for companies to offer motivating rewards and incentives to their staff, in a bid to encourage team members to maximise their efforts to hit targets. 

This week Sevenist CEO, Gus Daniels, has been deliberating this subject, debating the  effectiveness of work based incentives.  

Defined as “an object, item of value or desired action or event that spurs an employee to do more of whatever was encouraged by the employer through the chosen incentive” the concept can take the shape of various different forms; from Compensation Incentives, Rewards Incentives to simple Appreciation Incentives.  

Incentives can be created to increase productivity, retain employees, attract and reward high achievers, thank employees for reaching goals and encourage teamwork and Gus has been considering which, if any, are most effective. 

“Creating incentives undoubtedly gives team members a powerful, affirming recognition,” Gus expressed. “I believe it is worth considering trialling a rewards or incentives system as it could be the source of great success.”  

As a result of the brainstorm Gus has been contemplating the impact various different incentives would have on his workforce. The CEO is considering creating a Suit Bonus for summer, rewarding contractors who are hitting their targets and performing to the highest standard, with a brand new TM Lewin suit.  
The Sevenist business owner is also contemplating introducing cash prizes for individually who are consistently excelling in the field and continually breaking daily or weekly records. Above all, Gus recognises the importance of getting incentives right, creative relevant, desirable rewards for his team; as many workforces can misjudge incentives.
